TSAVORITE GARNET GEM STONE

A grossularirte form of Garnet, Tsavorite was discovered near the Tsavo National Park in the north-eastern part of Tanzania. It got popular worldwide in 1974, when Tiffany & Company began promoting the magnificent gem for its brilliant color, depth and transperancy. These days it is mined in Tanzania, Kenya, Brazil, Sri Lanka and India. It is believed to be worn by those seeking a better world, youth, vitality and tranquility. Rough Tsavorite crystals weighing over five carats are seldomly found making cut stones over two carats both rare and valuable. Its vibrancy and green shade makes it one of the few gems to rival Emerald in color and beauty.
